Key Information:
Duty-Free Entry:
Available for immigrants and returning residents if the goods have been owned and used for at least 6 months prior to import.
Temporary residents (students, workers) can import personal items duty-free but must export them upon departure.
Customs Inspection:
All shipments may be subject to examination.
Agricultural items (like wooden furniture, plants, and food) are inspected by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA).
Motor Vehicles:
Must meet Canadian standards.
